Specialized Therapy
for Women
Welcome Home
You don't have to do it all alone.
Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, divorce, postpartum changes, relationship struggles, grief and loss, or major life changes-- therapy can be a space where you can finally exhale.
My practice is devoted to helping women-- 18 and older -- who are ready to understand their stories, break generational patterns, and step into a more grounded, empowered, version of themselves.
Healing is not about "fixing you".
You are not broken.
My approach is:
-
Trauma-informed
-
Attachment-focused
-
Compassion-centered
-
Insight-oriented
-
Rooted in nervous system regulation
We move at your pace. We explore gently.
We build tools that you can use outside of your session.
Most importantly, this is a space where you are deeply seen.
About My Practice
Therapy Services
I offer, 1:1, therapy sessions adapted to meet the individual needs of my clients. I specialize in working with women. However, at times, I also offer couples sessions. I personalize my therapeutic approach, according to the specific needs my client has while providing comprehensive support to help navigate life's challenges with confidence. I accept insurance, private pay, and offer a sliding-scale.
My Therapeutic Approach
I use a blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic Experiencing (SE). I help clients understand the different “parts” of themselves that developed to cope with life experiences, while also paying close attention to how those experiences are held in the body. I also incorporate nervous system awareness and attachment-based therapy. This combined approach is especially helpful for people navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, and life transitions.
Our nervous systems are shaped by our early relationships and life experiences. Many of the patterns we struggle with today developed as ways to stay safe, connected, or protected when we were young and those patterns have continued with us into adulthood.
In therapy, we gently explore emotional patterns and the body’s responses to stress or connection. By slowing down and paying attention to sensations, emotions, and protective responses, clients can begin to regulate their nervous systems and understand the deeper needs behind their reactions. Working with both the nervous system and internal parts in therapy supports the development of greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and a deeper sense of safety within yourself.
This process helps people develop a greater sense of safety within themselves and in relationships. Over time, clients often experience more emotional resilience, clearer boundaries, and the ability to relate to themselves and others with greater compassion and trust.
Therapy Facts
-
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes, I offer a, free, 15 minute phone consultation where we can discuss why you want to start therapy, logistics, any concerns that you may have, and ask some questions.
-
How long does a typical therapy session last?
Typical therapy sessions are approximately 45 minutes.
-
How often do we meet?
The frequency of how often we meet can vary on a number of conditions. I typically like to start out sessions weekly so that we can build rapport, get to know each other and establish a treatment plan. I also try to meet at the same time/day each week to make scheduling easier. Of course, this can change with illness, holidays, and life events. As symptoms get better, the frequency of our sessions may get spaced out. For example, once a week to once every two weeks, then to monthly check-ins.
-
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I take insurance. Currently, I take Blue Cross Blue Shield, Premera, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare (Out of Network). I also provide clients with a superbill to submit to their insurance for reimbursement for clients that are private pay.
-
How much does it cost per session?
The cost varies depending on insurance and location. Typically, $150-$220 per session. I also offer a sliding-scale for some clients.
-
How long will we have to meet for?
The length of therapy varies a lot and depends on several factors. Somatic IFS work moves slow, so therapy typically is not just a few sessions. We are working with attachment patterns, trauma history, core beliefs, identity development, chronic anxiety/depressive symptoms, and relational dynamics, so therapy needs more time and space. On average, I see clients anywhere on average from 6 months to 2+ years.
Testimonials
"Kate is amazing! She's compassionate, caring, and kind. She's kind of like a built in bestie, but in the BEST WAY POSSIBLE. Her therapy sessions have truly transformed my outlook on life. I feel more empowered and in control of my emotions. I understand myself so much better now and have grace for myself."
Emily K.
"The somatic healing sessions have transformed my life. I felt so stuck before and I don't feel that way anymore. I feel more balanced and centered than ever before."
MiKayla J.
"I'm amazed by the effectiveness of therapy with Kate. I've done traditional talk therapy before, but this is different. Kate helped me get in tune with my body. I ignored it for so long and put myself of the back burner for the sake of taking care of my kids. Now, I've learned how to regulate my nervous system and stay grounded so that I can be a better wife and mom.
